I really only knew he existed, because he was in family pictures when he was a child. When I asked about him, I was told that someone in high school "turned him gay", and he moved after he graduated. I knew that he had lived in San Francisco and New York City. He was a hair stylist in some of the top salons, or so I heard. I never met him.
I've tried to put some of the pieces of his life together, but I haven't gotten far. I was told that he acquired HIV early on in the epidemic. However, he lived until 2007.
There is so much I don't know. I felt compelled to do something. This is not much. I'm sorry that I didn't know him. I wish I could've been there for him.
Did someone love him? What was he like?
